The Danger of Ice Dams

Improperly ventilated roofs can actually “heat up” during the winter and cause unbalanced melting of snow and ice. This can result in the formation of an “ice dam” in your gutter that can cause severe damage.

• Snow on roof melts and penetrates roof structure.
  
• Colder air at eaves refreezes melted snow as ice.
  
• Water backs up and enters home, damages frame, walls, etc.

A properly vented roof keeps attic temperatures consistent and helps prevent the formation of ice dams. All A&A Services roofs include a full-length ridge vent to foster proper, well balanced ventilation.
