A Better Glass System

Our KR-90 glass system consists of three layers of glass: two layers of low-E “Ultra-U Plus” glass and an additional layer of insulating/sound absorbing glass. The space between panes is filled with high density Krypton gas, guaranteeing additional insulation and reducing condensation.As a result, our Vanguard window earns an astounding 0.18 U-factor rating from the NFRC.

Advanced Spacer System

You can’t see them, but the “spacers” used to separate panes of glass in your window are critical to its performance. Our exclusive XLEdge spacers use “warm-edge” technology to provide superior performance.

• Our spacers are stainless steel — not aluminum or plastic — so they conduct far less cold.
  
• The primary seal element that meets the glass is polyisobutylene, which prevents moisture from penetrating.
  
• The secondary seal is silicone that creates a structural bond with the glass that retains its strength through expansion or contraction.
  
• We also include a dessicant moisture absorber as an additional layer of protection.
