Gutters are part of the home that is out of site and out of mind. Until something goes wrong with them and they become a nuisance, they are pretty much ignored. Some of us close our eyes to all the problems gutters can cause such as clogging and leaking. It is one of those things we always mean to get to, however, we only start to think about it when we experience the pain of a heavy rainfall. When the rain stops, the problem stops, and it is out of our minds again. When we let this pattern continue over time, it can cause thousands of dollars in damage from rotting fascias and soffits.

My recommendation to these problems is to keep gutters clean and keep the back side of the gutters sealed with a quality silicone caulking. The only problem with this is that it needs to be done every two years or so because of the contraction and expansion of the wooden fascia.
