Be Ready Against Harsh Massachusetts Weather at All Times

Massachusetts summers can be really hot and humid at times with temperatures exceeding 90. degrees, making this season quite uncomfortable for most residents. This season also brings in rain, hail, and even hurricanes. The reason behind this is that our location, which makes the state very prone to Nor’easter weather systems, can produce lots of rain and strong winds.

This is also the reason why we are experiencing severe storms lately. This article from wcvb.com forecasted continuous downpours:

Heavy rain, a threat of both severe and damaging storms and flash flooding are forecast for the first part of the week. On Sunday night, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Berkshire County and parts of Western Massachusetts.

As much as three inches of rain could fall by Wednesday and severe thunderstorms could bring damaging winds on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, meteorologists said. There is the slight chance of tornadoes in parts of the region, especially on Tuesday.

Muggy air is bringing oppressive levels of humidity, forecasters said.

Thunderstorms will move into eastern Massachusetts overnight into Monday morning.

While the rain may stop by midday Monday, storms are forecast to return later in the day, bringing the risk of isolated flash flooding.

Tuesday is forecast to see the most severe weather, with strong thunderstorms, hail and damaging winds.

With this in mind, it is highly advisable for homeowners to make sure that their homes are built to last against these natural menaces – from the hottest summers to the coldest winters and everything in between. Your windows, for instance, are a vital component of your home when it comes to keeping you and your family comfortable. After all, energy efficient windows help in keeping your home interior’s temperature regulated.
