New OSHA Regulations 2012 – Home Improvement Information and Seminars

According to OSHA, fatalities from falls are the number one cause of death on the job site. 35% of deaths since 2005 have been from falls. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development’s Department of Labor Standards is extending a free invitation to a seminar regarding OSHA safety, standards, enforcement, and repercussions.
What will be discussed at the OSHA “fall protection” seminar?
OSHA has many regulations regarding safety, and because falls cause many of the injuries that OSHA tries to prevent, they really preach a solid understanding of what it means to be safe at different heights. For example, when your home improvement contractor installs windows, siding, or gutters; the contractor must ensure all employees working above six feet must use guardrails, safety nets, or fall arrest systems (harnesses). OSHA will explain in the meeting that homeowners themselves can be liable for many job site injuries. It is always important to work with an experienced, licensed contractor.
