Breaking It Up, Doing It Right: Siding Installation in Peabody Made Easy
We asked our owner Chris to tell us a story about a siding project in Peabody, MA and the following is what he had to share.
It’s funny how people don’t always realize their options when it comes to home improvement, especially siding. One of my sales reps, Sean, went out to a house in Peabody after the homeowner flagged us down. We had just finished siding a house right across the street, and this guy had been watching our crew for a couple of weeks.
He told us, “You guys did a beautiful job. You showed up every day, right on time. Cleaned up like pros. And the house looks amazing.” That kind of feedback means a lot, especially when it leads to new work.
So Sean went out, took a look at this guy’s place, and priced out the entire house. It definitely needed the work—the siding was tired, especially on the front. But when Sean gave him the quote, the guy looked at it and said, “Ah, I just can’t afford that. There’s no way I can do the whole house right now.”
And you know what? That’s something a lot of people don’t think about—there’s flexibility in how you approach these projects. This guy lived in a pretty standard square-box Colonial, but it was positioned just right on the lot. The front faced the street perfectly, with the sides and back hidden enough that they weren’t immediately noticeable.
Sean took that into account and said, “Well, we could break this up if that helps.” The guy was surprised. “What do you mean?” he asked. Sean explained, “Your house lends itself perfectly to being done in stages. We can do the front now, and when you’re ready—next year, two years, whatever—you can have us come back to do the sides and back.”
Not every home allows for that kind of phased approach, but in this case, it worked perfectly. So we gave him a new price just for the front, and it was much more manageable. He agreed, and we got to work.
The transformation was incredible. When that front was done, it looked like a brand-new house. And he was so happy—said he felt great pulling into his driveway again. He was proud of his home, and you could see it on his face.
The best part? The very next year, he called us back. I don’t know how he pulled the money together—maybe he saved up, maybe something changed—but he was ready to finish the job. We came back and sided the rest of the house.
And because we’d planned for it from the beginning, we made sure that everything tied in perfectly. The seams matched, the lines flowed, and it looked like the whole house had been done at once.
It’s a great reminder that siding doesn’t have to be all or nothing. We always try to work with people’s needs—whether it’s breaking up a job, offering financing, or just finding the best solution for their home and budget. In the end, it’s all about helping people love where they live.
Another happy customer in Peabody, and another house we’re proud to have worked on.
